 Professor Colin Morris

 Professor Morris will talk about Manhattanville alumna Mary Hamilton, MAT ’71, an activist in the civil rights movement of the 1960s, who took her fight for courtroom respect all the way to the Supreme Court. 

Followed by a visit to the Newseum to view the exhibit 1968: Civil Rights at 50


Colin Morris has been a full-time faculty member of the Department of History at Manhattanville College since 1999 and has directed the interdisciplinary program in American Studies since 2000. His research has examined shifting conceptions of identity in varying dimensions and aspects of early American writing in relation to depictions of place and geography.
