Manhattanville welcomes author Phyllis Shalant back to Barat House with this six-part workshop for writers with adult or young adult manuscripts. Shalant is the author of numerous fiction and non-fiction books for children. Her works include The Society of Super Secret Hero’s, When Pirates Came to Brooklyn, and the Look What We’ve Brought You From craft book series. Shalant has held many workshops exclusively for educational writing for children and taught fiction writing at Manhattanville in the MFA Program.

A note from Phyllis Shalant:

I’m excited to be returning to Manhattanville to work with writers who are ready to revise a book. In a group no larger than six, we’ll explore how to add depth and complexity to your story by identifying issues in character development, intensifying drama, pacing, plot, and whatever else comes up.  If you’ve got a work-in-progress, I’d love to help you move it toward publication.
